Houji Cha is made from bancha, green tea leaves from the last harvest of the season, then roasted creating a light bodied tea. It is distinct from other Japanese green teas because it is roasted in a porcelain pot over charcoal, changing the leaf color from green to reddish-brown.
Just add the powder to water – hot or cold – and simply stir or shake. Instant green tea powders are very healthful because you consume 100% of the whole Japanese tea leaf.
