is an American artist who represents the art scene in East Village, New York in the late 1970s and 1980s. Herring’s work could be seen not only in the art gallery, but also in the city’s subways, roads and sidewalks. In his work, he is famous for combining various iconography such as heart marks, flying saucers, feathered motifs, and “shining babies” with abstract symbols and patterns.
